Hello
2011 2.0L Doblo
My ABS light came on a few days ago. For a few weeks before this happened I could hear a clicking sound when braking just before the car came to a stop.
I decided to look in that hub first but see or feel or hear nothing wrong. While I had the wheel off I checked the ABS sensor. It shows open circuit and shows no voltage when the hub is rotated. Unless it's different to any other abs systems I expected to see a reading. There is a ring around the inner hub that seems to be magnetic and looks ok. So was lucky first time finding the correct sensor first time?
I am tempted to buy a new sensor but they seem very expensive so thought I would ask first. Reading an old post someone talked of bearings failing on the built in magnet.?
Any ideas please

Regards Ken

Before spending more money elsewhere, it is very worthwhile to get multiecuscan. This diagnostic software (assuming you have, or can beg, borrow or steal, a laptop) along with the required cables (from your local eBay), will enable you to pinpoint, hopefully exactly, the problem with your ABS. These cars thrive on electrickery, and any fault finding on a guesswork, or even an informed guesswork, will end up costing you more in the long run.

It sounds like you are a bit "handy" with a spanner, so you will need something like multiecuscan to even get the oil change reset - a standard code reader won't do it.
Don't be concerned if you aren't happy with computers, multiecuscan has a simple interface, and it's easy to get the hang of.

Hi,
If the sensor has two wires it should read up two a few hundred resistance betwen the pins. If it reads open circuit it's faulty. You might measure a signal with a multimeter turning the wheel with a good sensor, but not much. Multiecuscan will tell you if the ECU is seeing a signal, but it sounds like you need a new sensor. You need to check the sensor ring and make sure it's not rubbing on the new sensor.

Sorry for the late reply. I missed the last replies.
I bought a scan tool to read the Doblo. Had to be special to read a Commerical vehicle. Very expensive.
Anyway the code is
C1205 ABS outlet valve coil rear short to Ground.
I am assuming that the Eletronics that are part of the ABS unit. You can buy a car for the price of a new ABS unit. It gets very deep.the are so many variants of the abs. It looks like the part number gas to be from the abs Ecu part. So does anyone know if when an abs is fitted it has to be programmed to the car?
Thanks for the replies Ken

Hi as far as I now there is no programming needed for ABS replacement. You say the scan tool was very expensive, why didn't you buy Multiecuscan s advised by Mike? It's 50 Euros and an interface and leads is under £20. Even if you had to buy a used laptop it's not that expensive. Multiecuscan includes commecial vehicles and will also do any adjustments needed.

Hello
I have an Autel multi scan tool that's quiet good but it won't read the new version of the Doblo. It seems the later Doblo is a commercial vehicle and has a unique protocol. I think this one was £140.00 but was lucky to get it for that price.
It's in the garage so can't remember it's make.
It's a bit of a minefield trying to get the correct gear.
Launch Creader from memory . Seem a bit cheaper now but at the time were £170.00ish
It was recommended on here somewhere.
