Hi folks. I'm going to look at one of the above. It's a 2006 1.4i. It's just had the belt and pump done as it's just reached 60k and there was a fault related to the accelerator (not sure what this was).. are there any other major issues that I should be concerned about when going to look at it?

Thanks

The owner of the one I was going to view has recently told me it had been having a problem accelerating.. This was supposedly traced to the ECU.. does this sound likely?

The questions are:

How was it traced?

What was traced?

How was it fixed?

Is it still fixed or is it likely to reoccur?

Ken

As it happens it seems that the dobro still gas this problem. Press the accelerator and it doesn't accelerate. Unfortunately I'm in a foreign country (greece) and have not got my diagnostic reader with me. What would be likely causes of this?
Many thanks

OK. So it seems the diagnosis is that it needs a new/reconditioned ECU. The garage say that the signal from the throttle body is the problem. Does anyone know of any reputable company that reconditions ECU'S?
thanks

BBA Reman = UK company;)

usually find the ECU is o.k.
it can only work with the signal info it receives - poor wiring / earths is the usual suspect..,:bang:

OK apreciate the info. The garage is certain this is the problem as he says he has seen several with similar problems.. I'm hopeless when it comes to electrics.. when you say bad earth where would I start to look? ?
