Just thought I'd post our views on our recently purchased Doblo. Might be useful for people contemplating purchasing one.

Brought it back in August 05, it being 11 months old with 3,400 miles on the clock! We previously had a Citreon Berlingo 1.6 Forte, but this just seemed to be an unlucky car for us. It's the Family version, so is the 1.3 Multijet Diesel engine with the 7 seats, complete with Air Con. The only downside is that it's Red, so we've put a Jess soft toy on the front dashboard to help avoid the 'It looks like Postman Pat's Van' type comments, because, yes, we know thank you! :p

General impressions so far is that Fiat have got it just right. We love the space, the kids (pictured with said 'Dobby') love it too and our eldest enjoys riding in the back.

Engine is adequate for the size of body, not over powered, but not underpowered just about right. Fuel economy according to the trip computer is around 52mpg, but I think it's being over generous a little. Still happy with what it's giving compared to the Berlingo. Air Conditioning gives no affect on the performance of the engine whatsoever.

Drive is ok, rolls a little, but does ok. Turbo can be heard whistling which is novel when accelerating. The side mirrors are just the best thing (sad, I know), but makes parking and reversing a breeze. Headlights are bright, along with good bright reversing lights as well.

Interior is good, feels more 'futuristic' than other cars, but is a two man job (read Man and Wife) to get rear seat out so we get a boot. Design is awkward getting this out, as it has scratched the side plastics a bit lugging the seat in and out of the car.

First service only cost £105 from local main dealer, with one of the rear seat catches replaced under warranty as it seemed a little weak. No problems. Dealer even delivered car back to our house when finished.

Spent a bit of time looking for the right model, found this one in Taunton at Wellington Motors (Nissan Dealer), but they were trying to flog it through their 'on-line' business so the price was somewhat cheaper than the original screen price. Originally this was £8,999, but we purchased this for £6,542! That's a 11 months old, 3,500 mile 7 seater Diesel for £6.5k!!!! We're well chuffed!

Hope this helps someone.

Pete

Plastics in rear do scratch badly as you mentioned & speakers are poor, tailgate lock sometimes gives probs but overall great car....if I had the cash i'd get one as really need space for all the kids,or a coach:rolleyes:
