Hi guys and girls,
I've been looking at buying a doblo, not too fussed if van or mpv they both have +s and -s for me. I'll be putting a bed in the back and using it to camp in as well as it being my only vehicle.
So far from what I've seen in the forum these are good vehicles, so pleased there.
I want a smaller Diesel engine so less on tax and insurance
I'm a bit concerned about the dpf, how do I know if a vehicle I'm interested in has one?

I'm waiting on a call back for this one, which looks nice in the pics and I have a good feeling about it (yep, I buy my vehicles mostly by gut feeling!!)
It's a 4 hour round trip so need be sure what I'm looking at here!

Hi, My son has one, the 1.2 diesel and he thinks it's great... but I have a Grande Punto with the same engine and I've had problems with the EGR valve and it's in such an awkward place to get to ,you have to have workshop facilities to get at it . Don't know if the van is the same as the car, but seems quite a good engine with no cam belt to worry about.

If you don't want the DPF problems get an older 1.9JTD without it. I wouldn't touch a smaller diesel personally, so I'm not much help. I drove a 1.6 the day I bought my 1.9 and I've never regretted having the extra poke (and I know, on paper...)

they're not a light vehicle and if you load it up and go touring... but then I'm not subject to the UK's pathetic taxation so take it all with a pinch of salt.

Thanks, yeah, it's the high tax I want to avoid, I did um and ahh a bit but I've driven a 1.3 hijet for the last eight years it's now 17 years old so I think any newer vehicle is goIng to seem like a race car compared to that, all the Doblos have more bhp than the hijet! I don't drive particularly fast so hopefully I should be fine

They're not gutless, but most things feel it compared to the 1.9
