Hi guys,

I have a 2005 Doblo, 1.9JTD Active. 105bhp 77kw.
The handbrake cable snapped on Friday and booked it in for a new one Saturday morning.
After removing the old cable, the garage said that I need new drum brakes, shoes and adjusters as well (the drums are pretty rusted)

First off, does anyone know the cheapest place to get these parts? I'm going to sell the van after its been fixed so would like to spend as little as possible.

That leads to my next question, does anyone have any support or advice about fitting a new handbrake cable myself? I know how to do the brakes just not the cable.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks, Owen

P.s. the garage estimated £500 for the repairs!!

Hi, :)
EBAY using registration number should get the correct parts..,

see warning below;)

changing - slacken off nut under the handbrake in cab, then unhook from the arm inside the rear drum,
simple enough job, just a bit fiddly..,

make sure vehicle is in gear and propped up well before undoing rear brakes..!!

:idea:see GUIDES section for Punto rear brakes. etc
