Hi There, my first post in desperation to find a solution.
I have just purchased a 53 Doblo SX 1.9 Diesel. (Yellow!!)183000 miles but in excellent condition and a great price.

I drove for a couple of miles, no problem, pulled into a petrol station, switched off, then drove away, no problem. Pulled into a car park to make a call, turned off for about 15 minutes then started up fine.
However, the glow plug light was flashing, Engine warning light on and I couldn't rev the van. I pulled away and was limping up the road really slowly, smoke from back so pulled over for a while again.
Then started up again and all seemed fine. No flashing plug light or engine light. Drove home 80+ miles, fine.
Got home, started it later and same problem. Drove down road for a couple of miles, engine stalled (?), restarted and no problem. Drove for a few miles back home. Later tried and the same problem again, and this seems to be how it goes. Started this morning, No revs and warning lights on. Left for 15 mins, started and all fine, drove to work fine. Turned off, and on again and problem started all over again.

Could anyone please help? Have I bought a whole load of trouble?
Thank you!!

Hi, and welcome to FF, :)

purchase price tells a tale..;) BUT if it runs o.k. at times then it'll be a sensor / poor connection,

BEST bet is get it's diagnostic socket coupled to a code reader.. that'll give a hint as to where to start looking,

A FIAT specific unit will be more accurate,(y)

search MultiECUScan on the web.

many of the owners on here have it for general servicing:cool:
