Hi all,

Wondered if you can guys can help. The father in laws doblo seems to have lost power to the driver side brake light.

This is believe it due to the a tow bar fitment that has been on for a few years.

The tow bar electrics have been spliced into the driver side rear cluster cabling.

Any ideas where i should start. The fuses are fine just alittle lost moving forward.
The bulb is showing as connected but no brake lights as you disconnect it then shows a warning light that there is no bulb.

Any help is appreciated

Hi

Been having trouble with one of my rear lights.
Found out it was the push in connector.
Look inside it and see if the 'prongs' are a little low. Get a tiny screwdriver in and lever them up.
Worked for me.

Very weird. Still have this fault.
Checked 12v down on switch wire to bulb holder no lamp illumination.
Disconnect and alarms that no lamp connected.

Connect a 12v battery to rear light and lights up no problem.
Connect a cable from passenger brake light over the driver brake light also no problem.

So very lost, there's voltage but no lamp illumination.

Try taking the splice off that wire, cutting it and remaking it as a solid wire (ie strip a bit, make a good twist joint and insulate it, or use a suitable crimp connector.

Now try the light. If it works, remake the crimp further down. I had similar on another motor, but don't ask me what exactly caused it. It's worth going round all your earths as well - they seem prone to degrading on towbar electrics.
