Hi to everyone, I am new to the forum and could really use some good advice .
i have a 2007 1.3 multijet doblo ,with a running issue ,the van starts up easily enough but will not rev ,if you hold hold the throttle pedal to the floor the revs will very slowly go up this is accompanied by some black smoke ,i have checked and changed the following, turbo ,egr valve, exhaust, catalytic converter, map sensor, maf sensor, cam sensor ,injectors, checked for air leaks or air in the fuel lines ,checked the turbo intercooler rad,for leaks and free flow through and all the hoses, the engine has no rattles knocks or odd noises ,the only thing i can find that doesnt add up is a low reading on the map sensor using this you tube test RAC How to Test a Fiat Doblo 1300 Multijet Manifold Absolute Pressure Sensor MAP , with the engine running, the white and green wire (which is the earth via the ecu) i am getting a reading which seems to vary from 5.8 -8.7 millivolts instead of the 10.2 ,this makes me think the ecu is at fault ,and i am considering buying a ecu transponder key etc kit , but would appreciate any advice.
thanks phil

Hi,

For what this is worth, have you considered the wastegate valve operation on the turbo unit. Its only a suggestion, but I've read on this site that this is a common fault with most turbo units. The valve doesn't open when requested and resulting in poor rpm's accompanied by black smoke.
It might help you.......................it might not.
John.
