Hi guys, as my name suggests, I own a 2005 1.9JTD Active that has a considerably loud engine due to being a diesel.

I have ordered some Silent Coat sound deadening mats that you stick to metal to help reduce road noise.
I was wondering if anyone could give me information on how to access the firewall (to reduce engine noise specifically) and also how to get behind the front windows' assembly units to stick some onto the outer door panel.

Additionally I'm in the process of cleaning and re-sealing all the seals, especially around the rear sliding windows to help reduce wind noise.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks, Owen

Thanks Ron,

I'll definitely save your guide for when I'm feeling more adventurous as I'd hate to mess that one up!

Upon further inspection I have sourced the reason that my drivers side rear window has had a bad seal..

As you can see in the pictures, the draining hole was no way near the size of the passenger side window. I've just cut the holes bigger on my lunch break and will clean them out later
