Does anybody have issues with the relatively skinny tyres fitted to the Doblo?

I have some Firestone Multihawk tyres on the front and they appear rubbish. They wheel spin really easily when pulling out of junctions and don't really inspire much confidence in the wet, reaching limits of grip far too quickly when taking roundabouts at normal speeds. ABS cuts in fairly early also.

I guess its down to these rubbish tyres? They're at 36 Psi.

Can anyone suggest better tyres or should I look for a wider tyre on the stock 14 inch alloy? Can you fit wider tyres?

I'm also wondering about fitting a different model 15/16" alloys with a 195/50/15 profile?

Our Doblo has had the same front tyres as you for about 30 months. We have not experienced either of these problems. If fact I had the rears replaced with Multihawks recently and swapped for the front.

Our Doblo is the 1.4L 8V petrol. I guess the 120bhp JTD may be a different proposition if that is your version.

Mine is a 2005 1.9 JTD 105.

The other problem may be the load rating of the tyre is 84 whereas it should be 88 on a diesel, not sure if the petrols are the same. Maybe this is the problem.

Load rating should be 88T minimum for the passenger version, 92 for cargo and probably diesels.
So best replace sooner rather than after an accident. After about 2mm the tyres will loose grip rapidly.
Later versions have 185/65x15. 36psi is right. 175/185 not much difference, you may be better off just replacing with a fresh premium brand rather than fitting bigger wider wheels.
