Hi, I have a 2004 1.3 Doblo and although it runs fine on the flat and downhill it has deveoped a problem with a significant loss of power as soon as I reach an incline in the road. I am currently on route to Alsace for Christmas and even on a moderate motorway incline I have been forced to go down through the gears to as low as 2nd gear. Has anyone any ideas what this might be and also if it is something that I would be able to put with without doing any serious harm until I get back home (still in France but another 1600km driving) after Christmas.

I have a few questions,is engine management light on,i would have thought you would have said if it was,it could be a whole host of problems from a restricted fuel filter which would put light on eventually for low fuel pressure,a restricted exhaust get some one to rev the plums out of engine if you hear a bad hiss from tailpipe theres your problem.Does the engine rev flatout?Does engine chuck out smoke when you boot it,could be throttle potentiometer, egr, valve timing,i could go on,you really need to put a scanner on it asap especially as you are travelling such a long way, good luck!

Are the tyes/wheels stock 14"?
If larger wheels have been fitted, it would affect the gearing and be noticable under strain, like going up an hill.

Salut,
Thank you for your reply, sorry for my delay but I have only just found out that I had received replies, normally I receive an email notification. Anyway there are no warning lights showing and to all intents and purposes it drives perfectly normally. We in fact continued our trip and returned home to the west coast of France without further incident although we did less long continuous motorway travelling.

Salut,
Excuse me for my delay replying, reasons as per my reply to Boney. Our Doblo is just bog standard, no modifications.

No, nothing else unusual at all. No strange noise, hisses or clanks, no smoke and no warning lights.
