Re Near Side sliding door sticking.
This happened to mine last week at 11pm on Saturday night, and it’s a Taxi.
There is a steel pin that prevents the door from being opened, when the fuel filler cap is open. There is a steel cable attached on the back of the filler cap operating through a pivot. There is a clear plastic holder that twists onto the end of the cable one end, and the filler cap pivots around it, this snaps.
To open door ;-
Remove filler cap, 2 phillips head screws, gently juggle cap until whole assembly comes out, you will see clear casing with a cable, separate the cable from the pivot, twist the clear plastic casing and remove it from the cable.
Push the inner spring loaded cable and get a friend to open the door.
On the inside of the door opening there is a rectangular black plastic piece with the steel pin in it, to remove it, flick the cover of it and there are 2 star drive screws in it. Unscrew these and remove the cable.
Now refit the fuel filler only.
The door can now be used as normal, but do not open it with the fuel filler open.
Let me know if this sorts it out,it sounds complicated but only took me about 20 mins on a wet Sat night, and then back out to work. It cost me £38 for replacement parts from Fiat, I have part numbers if required.
