Hi

I am replacing the factory stereo with a Sony MEX-N5000BT in my 2014 Doblo and wanted to know if anyone has any advice on doing this.

also I read in the manual about the Power connection diagram using either a switched power supply or a continuous power supply

what happened with this install, how did it go? Im about to purchase a double here in the USA when they become available.

It's a little bit of thread necro, but Im interested in the same subject.

I want to fit a Pioneer SPH-DA120 (the apple carplay one) in my 2012 Doblo (1.4 My Life).

Does anyone know if it is possible to fit a double din stereo in my Doblo?
I'm guessing I will need one of fascia panels aswell?

Anyone shed any light on this for me please?

Wiring is almost simple, as the standard Fiat comes with ISO connection wires, so no adaptor required.

The aerial connector is the smaller ISO type, so an ISO to DIN adaptor may be needed.

As Sinny has said, there's been a recent thread on double DIN enclosures.

drivethru - I know that in the US, aftermarket stereo's may not come with any wiring, or just a plug with bare wires attached, so you may need to purchase or make up an adaptor

link? i cant find it

I know this thread is old now. But do not try and put a double din stereo in your doblo even though you can buy double din fascias the stereo will not fit without some pretty major modifications to the dash as the plastic airflow tubes from the aircon/blower are here and prevent you fitting the stereo. I found this out the hardway.

Buy a single din fascia on ebay and you should have no problems.

Also you may find that you need to wire an aftermarket headunit to a live wire (pos battery). The connectors alone arent enough as the after market unit requires 12v whereas the fitted one required 5.

This information applys to the mk3 fiat doblo. Mine is the Cargo Maxi. So this info may not apply to other models but I have since read on places such as amazon, people having the same issue were they had to cut the dash to fit a stereo it's major work not just a bit of trim.

Hope this helps any one in the future trying to do this. Contact me if you have any questions

Hey dogman,

I had the exact same issue. Did some research. spoke to someone at Halfords and asked about online and found out the following:

You use the original harness like you have but you also need to add an additional powerline(12v. This should be shown in the stereo wiring diagram/schematic in the manual.)

I think this is because the original stereo runs off of lower voltage and has a built in switch whereas the aftermarket one won't.

I was lucky and was able to crimp onto the 12v power going to my parrot hands free but if you dont have this option you could either go straight to the battery or better, to the fuse box.

To save you loads of time. If you want to run a cable through the firewall you can on my model at least (2011 maxi cargo). Go through an exisiting grommet in the firewall which will put the cable up and behind the glove box. I've attached some pics that will hopefully help.

If you wouldnt mind sharing how you managed to fit your double din I would be really interested.

Hope you manage to get it sorted.
