Hi,

I have this reoccurring problem with my fiat doblo (2001).
Out of the blue the engine will stop and i cant start it again.
The fuse F17 then is blown and blows again after exchange when i try to start the engine. The mechanic says that the problem might be one of the 4 vaporizers.

The big problem is that when he is trying to trace the error - suddenly it's gone and the car works again. But the same failure can then occur any given time i drive the car.

This has happened 3 times now. Very inconvenient.

Any ideas to what might be the problem?

F17 relates to the ECU, powered when the ignition is switched on.

So, either there is a fault with the ECU or the ignition switch itself.

Does it blow while driving, while idling or when something is switched on?

Is the interior blower fan on or the heated rear window, perhaps just after you press the brake pedal or switch the lights on???

My guess is something is overloading the ignition switch or perhaps the ECU itself is at fault....

I would have it code read for underlying faults.
