Headlights blows

Hi
I have a 2004 1,9JTD 105hp. The headlights gets blown, but not park and high beam?? Replaced new battery today and the lights worked fine for 5 min and then gone.. Anny ideas?

Normally the alternator is the problem here. The voltage regulator goes wrong and the alternator overcharges.

The headlamp bulbs are normally the first to suffer failure.

Have the alternator output checked.

Hm the alternator was replaced just 2 years ago. Due to water in the road that made it defect

New just means it wasn't previously used, not that it isn't defective

It could be any manner of faults, but normally over voltage is the cause.

I know people touching the glass can blow bulbs, but it can take hours, not 5 minutes.....

Shows 14.5 volt when ideling. Does not rice when speeding up?

Or to be exactly. 14.45v. Checked on the bulb socket and same value there.

I could be wrong, but I think 13.8v is about right for charging.

I rather think 14.45v may a tad high.....
