Hi all,
I have a 2002 1.9 jtd doblo, I've had it 2 years now hardly any problems, until yesterday.
I parked up and noticed the battery light staying on but I had to rush out with the mrs, when I hot back a couple of hours later I noticed both the head lights were on, but not the rear or no.plate lights and the switch was off on the stalk.
I had no option but to disconnect the battery as I couldn't get them to turn off.....
Any ideas what this could be ?

There is a small black push button on the ignition barrel, just where you put the key in, this keeps the lights on after removing the key, but that wouldn't explain the battery light staying on. Sounds like a job for the dealer or an auto electrician.

Turning the key back should only operate the sidelights (parking lamps).

At a guess, it may be a fault in the BCM (Body Control Module) or a stuck relay.

The FIAT headlamps only work with the ignition on, so the relay may have shorted out and is allowing a current to flow back through the ignition switch.

Try removing the relay and see if the ign lamp goes off.

Sounds quite likely, where is this relay located? please

I think the battery light is on as my headlights are draining the battery, as I only do short journey it's not getting enough charge as it went off the other day after a longer journey .
So it seems to be now that the headlights only come on when driving and now sometimes turn off after 2 minutes of sometimes just stay on when the engine is turned off and keys taken out.

I thought that but I've disconnected the electrical plugs on the back of the ignition barrel and the light switch / indicator stalks and the head lights still stay on, so I think this rules out those switches sticking

I Think it's the body control module :(
Can I just plug a new one in or does it need to be initialised and set up ?
