just had my 2006 1.3d doblo in for mot and it just passed with poor rear brake pressure the van had just been fitted with new shoes and the handbrake was fine the tester said its a hydraulic problem and not getting enough pressure suggested the pressure equalizer might be faulty. If anyone has any ideas it would be grateful. Thanks

Normally, the pressure regulator would go the opposite way and apply too much pressure (just watch any Russian crash vid on youtube and watch as Lada's spin their @rse past their headlamps :D ).

It could be it has jammed up, or is in dire need of a fluid change and a freeing off.

However, I would be tempted to strip the shoes and see if they are free and check the wheel cylinders for movement on both sides.

Wouldn't be the first time I have had to replace a set because the steel body and alloy pistons (or the other way about) have been affected by water ingress to the fluid and started reacting with the alloy swelling against the steel or simply against the rubber seal, which gets tighter & tighter.

For the sake of five quid for fluid and around 15/20 each for the cylinders, you'd be as well to swap them if you are at all dubious.
