Hi Guys,

Just picked up my cargo last friday and it has a couple issues as it hasnt been used for a year. Its a tidy van and came up on ebay and ended up buying it.

I am after some help with fault diagnosing for the following problems, so any advice much appreciated.

1. around 50mph the whole vehicle begins to shake, below this is fine and above 60 it lessens. I have put this down to the tyre and it not being used for 12 months?

2. The hand brake light comes on intermittently whilst driving?

3. the passenger door handle does not work is there guide to repair this?

4. The biggest problem was the other day I went to the post office and come back out and there were no lights on the dash or anything, completely dead. so I checked the earth and the fuses, cleaned them and it started. I have tried again this morning and it is not starting. Is this a common problem?

Hi, I am not the official welcomer, but, errmm....welcome

Tyres can become mis-shapen if standing a long time. The carcase can twist or a flat spot. That should explain the shudder.

Hand brake light is likely fluid level low, which can either translate as a leak at the rear wheel cylinder or pads/shoes worn way past safe.

Passenger door handle...inside or out or both? It may be the lock solenoid is jammed locked....

The last bit is possibly a bad earth from battery to gearbox (remove air cleaner to get better access. Check earth from battery to body too.

They are also known for problems with ignition switch (cowling off and look at end of key barrel, you'll see the wires). Sometimes the contacts burn and stop power getting to fuse box and such.

Just checked the earth from gearbox and it was loose so now starts! Thanks very much.

With regards to the passenger door it opens from the inside but wont open or lock from the outside.
