my doblo (1900 jti)developed a knocking noise from the front at the right hand side yesterday, I first thought wheelbearing/ball joint but after driving for half an hour it changed to a clunking noise and when I go over 20 mph the steering wheel starts to wobble ,it gets worse when I try to turn the steering wheel around tight bends, any help would be appreciated

May seem obvious, but check the wheel nuts are tight!

Wife's car developed EXACT same noise after the tyres were changed. ONE front wheel came loose for no apparent reason!!

changed the front passenger side tyre the same day, only 3 nuts would hold, going to be gutted and relieved if this is the problem(lost fri/sat night taxi business)ill post back tomorrow a lot of vodka in my system just now, first Saturday night I have had off in years

It happens more than you'd think. A few revolutions of the wheel with loose bolts and the threads are gubbed.

Replacement hub will have you back up and running. I would have had you back on the road the same day, that's a two hour job at most with the parts at hand...and they don't have to be new.

you were spot on with the wheelnuts andoo, looks like I forgot to tighten the remaining 3 when I changed the tyre, cant believe I lost out on a fir/sat nights earnings over a mistake like this,i nearly got a full shift in on sunday but it came to an early end when a junkie put a screwdriver to my throat and tried to rob me,the joys of taxi driving, more vodka in the system tonight I think, cheers again

Glad it was a simple fix :)

I know about the joys of junkies, have had a gun to my head before. Lost the plot with the little pr*ck :bang: He ran off with me cursing and swearing after him (y)

Cops took two days to track him down, but they got him after he robbed an old biddy at knife point... (n)

Still, at least they can catch us motorist thugs quickly, eh? ;)

No doubt you will be checking your nuts more often :D

that's shocking andoo, guns haven,t reached Dundee yet,i don't think the junkies could afford them, there is so many dealers in Dundee that the price of drugs is now rockbottom,a junkie only needs a fiver and he/she is sorted,if the police don't male headway on this in the next 3 days ill start putting out my own feelers which will mean giving a few free fares to the local chemists ,what sad times we live in
