Is it easy to change the rear engine mounting on doblo cargo 223 1.9 jtd multijet? 2008.

Assuming your referring to the mount underneath the car fixed to the gearbox and cross member. If it is and is similar to the older 1.9 JTD it's definately DIY doable. One bolt vertical up through the centre of the mount plus one horizontal where it fixes to the gearbox. I found it easier to undo a couple of exhaust pipe fixing bolts so that the exhaust could be moved side ways to allow easier removable of the horizontal bolt.

Hi what symptoms did you have with a broken engine mount ❓?

With my motor, I used to get a whip lash effect when accelerating. The momentum of the engine suddenly swinging on the top mounts with no bottom mount to hold it stable was quite frightening because it would suddenly pull the car to the near side. Remember when I first drove it home after buying it, I happened to have a couple of spare 31" off road tyres and wheels in the back and I thought it was these wheels moving about that was causing my Doblo to be unstable.

A simple way to find out if you've got a problem with the rear mount is to reach under the car from the drivers side, place your hand on the sump and push forward. If you've got engine movement you will know there is a problem with the rear mount. By engine movement, I'm talking a couple of inches.

Thanks again I have now managed to replace my rear engine mount (easy to do) it did not appear to be in a poor condition the van only has done 43k from new. I still get some ducking and diving when accelerating hard and gear changing about 50mph I looked at the various linkage joints etc. which appeared OK have you any other suggestions what could cause my problem please❓

If the car moves one way when accelerating and the opposite way when lifting off (decelerating) it could be a bottom ball joint.

I have ALWAYS found this to cause pulling left/right when on/off throttle.

Yes you were close I've replaced the near side lower wishbone which came with the ball joint riveted to it, that was fine but the rubber wishbone bushes were shot which was the root of the ducking and diving it drives as it was new now?.
