I have a 2007 1.3 Multijet doblo van. I have been having intermittant problems with the engine light coming on and losing power if i accelerate too hard.

I have been advised that the first port of call should be to clean the EGR. Could someone please give me a quick step by step guide on how to remove the valve, on looking under bonnet it looks fairly tucked away do I need to remove other stuff to get to it?

Also is there any special tools i need I dont want to start it and be unable to finish it. Apologies if this topic has been covered before.

To be honest I wouldn't be cleaning it i'd be replacing it due to it's location. Some jobs are best paying for and IMO this is one of them as as you stated you don't want to start it then not finish it.

However I would get it diagnosed 100% that the EGR is at fault as the 1.3 is common for MAF,MAP sensors etc.
