I'm not very knowledgeable on diesel technology and the wife's problem with her Doblo has me puzzled. 1.9JTD, last weekend she had a problem with stalling when she tried to pull away. since then on several occasions the engine has hesitated when she tries to accelerate.
Can anyone suggest what could be wrong, please?
Thanks!!

Peter, thanks!
It's 2005, about 61K on the clock. No engine light. It actually did it while I was driving yesterdat. Tried to pull away, nearly stalled, but I kept it going. For about 3 or 4 minutes it would not rev or pull, throttle had no effect at all. Then it cleared and was normal.

EGR valve? (Exhaust Gas Recycling). They gum up all the time and cause rough running. Simple to remove/clean or replace. Lots of info on here

Believe symptoms would fit.

Good luck!

Yes I know for 40 start ups (64 on EOBD2) but OP states light not on which from a diagnostic point it was never on or OP should of stated it was on but is not on now.

You cannot rely on fault codes all the times, that is what is wrong with so many many technicians...they forget to use their brain and the basics!

Clean the egr valve......Why do people immediately assume a reader is the only way to diagnose a fault
LUIGI

Because that is one of the tasks of the ECU.
And the only way to tell, is to read it, and to read it you need a scanner, one way or the other...
(And a malfunction in the EGR system will cause a light.)

After using a 20 gbp scanner once, it will have paid for itself...!!
So get one :)
