Getting an odd clunking sound (and associated clunk feeling through the chassis) on my 2006 MultiJet active when accelerating and going over bumps / London potholes. Seems to be coming from the rear. Car is dead straight, perfect tracking so doesn't seem like running gear. Could it be exhaust?

Also get a burning (rubber) smell after hammering it down a motorway for at least 50 miles.

Any ideas what to look out for on both or are they related?

Both full beams have packed in as well but going out with a multimeter later to play hunt the fuse/relay.

This car is a demon car. Plagued with Whack-a-mole problems.

Sounds like what my 56 plate Cargo is doing - I think mine's an Engine mount issue, probably the rear one given the movement that's evident.

Probably not.. have you got any slight oil leaks that could relate to this smell?

See above

Nice, I'll look out for this one, but I've heard that the switch in the cabin can be a common cause of this.

Whack-a-mole problems :D glad I'm not the only one and I LOVE that description! (look out for the bad earth on the rear light clusters. Both mine have failed this year. As has the clutch master, the wiper linkages, the Engine earth strap, Driver's side glass guide and pad and probably some other stuff I've forgotten..... PLus I think the EGR is giving up, too...

hmmm...
