Getting an odd clunking sound (and associated clunk feeling through the chassis) on my 2006 MultiJet active when accelerating and going over bumps / London potholes. Seems to be coming from the rear. Car is dead straight, perfect tracking so doesn't seem like running gear. Could it be exhaust?
Also get a burning (rubber) smell after hammering it down a motorway for at least 50 miles.
Any ideas what to look out for on both or are they related?
Both full beams have packed in as well but going out with a multimeter later to play hunt the fuse/relay.

glad I'm not the only one and I LOVE that description! (look out for the bad earth on the rear light clusters. Both mine have failed this year. As has the clutch master, the wiper linkages, the Engine earth strap, Driver's side glass guide and pad and probably some other stuff I've forgotten..... PLus I think the EGR is giving up, too...
