Hello folks, I am the proud owner of a very sweet running and reliable 1.9 non turbo Doblo. Well sweet til three or four days ago when a misfire sort of noise arrived, only at low revs but all as normal with some speed gained. This now has developed into something more annoying in that it more often than not wont idle and when it does it runs uneven for only a short time then stops. It starts as normal, first touch but its impossible to drive in traffic. Does anyone know of this problem as someone said it could be the injector pump. Any advice would be great. Thanks Tom.

I would strongly suspect the torque position sensors inside the high pressure pump (it's a crappy lucas set up) so I personally would get this checked first.
Thanks ,wonder is this something I can do myself as I have a spare injector pump or wil it involve some plugging in to a computer. If i swap pumps straight over wil that sort it. I spoke tonight with a lad who has a Doblo marked j.t.d. however the engine is just like mine, no turbo,he had the same problem and was told a new pump was the answer.800 spent and three months later same thing again. They did replace it and its good so far. Thanks Tom.

Damm that sounds all a bit heavy, could switching pumps get me sorted or does that involve computer also.

hi tom,my non turbo doblo cargo van has developed a similar prob,it starts fine but when driving around at low speeds the revs go up and down by itself like someone is blipping the accelerator pedal then sometimes it just dies and engine management light comes on,it restarts easily and ticks over ok,i changed the fuel filter first but still same prob, anyone out there any ideas before i take it to the garage? mark

hi there i had similar symptoms and it is now fixed.it was the contacts in the acelerator pedal assembly .the contacts were cleaned and sprayed with wd40 ,cost me 20 quid ,i gave the mechanic 30 as i thought it was going to be injectors or fuel pump, expensive!mark
