Hi there , just an idea but have you checked the water pump . Some water pumps have a plastic impeller and that cracks or fails totally causing the vehicle to overheat when under load .. Hope this helps (y)

Hi, when I had an overheating problem I thought it was my thermostat, but it was the water pump which had sheared on the shaft. This was about at the 70,000 mile period, a few months after I had the timing kit fitted. Try disconnecting a heater pipe when it is running to see if the water is pumping, but make sure the heater is set on hot.

Hi there , another way to check the operation of the water pump is to have the engine running and check the coolant bottle return that is normally at the top side of the bottle , you should see coolant passing through the pipe at the top going back into the bottle . No running coolant = faulty water pump (y)
