Hi,

in my doblo 1.4 dynamic I have problem with the power.

When I have 4 pasengers and some baggage I have problem with the power.

The car have only 28000km, all the service do in FIAT and everything is ok about problems or errors.

What can I do, is it good idea to change the motor? and if is this good idea what motor can I change. I think that for this car the best motor will done a 1,6 or 1,8. Yes I know that is not right to change the motor but this time with this motor (77php) I can not make safe travel.

Thanks!

Hi Lasermark
With respect, are you not answering your own question?
Basically, if your not happy with the unpower situation you find yourself in when fully laiden and you need to amend that situation then upgrading to a motor with a more powerful engine is really the answer.
That said, are you thinking of changing the engine to an 1.6/1.8 (if an option) in your existing car? Would have thought that could lead to alot of work and expense for not a massive amount of gain. Reckon there will be alot of investigation into compatibility (wiring loom/ECU/sensors etc. plus gearbox/clutch etc.) and not forgetting the replacement engine.
My private thoughts are that you could be jumping out of the frying pan into the fire with the exchange engine option.
For me, if it was a requirement, I would trade the 1.4 in for a motor with a larger engine to appease the situation.

I don't want to change car because my car is in new, I want to change only the engine with something more power but with the fewer conversions.

Do you know what engine do for this model?

or some another member with the same model doblo that has change the motor?

I'm afraid I don't have the indepth knowledge for an engine exchange on your 1.4.
To be perfectly honest with you, with your car in a new condition, would have thought you would want to buy a new factory engine rather than taking the risk with a second hand engine. By the time you've bought an engine and had it fitted, surely you would be financially better off by trading your car for another car with the required bigger engine.
Have a troll through the following link and you might get some idea of component compatability and price.

Thank you!

I've never heard of anyone changing an engine themselves in a new car. It would be supremely difficult if not impossible to make all the electronics match up, let alone the mechanicals and fuel delivery systems etc., and even if it did work, which I doubt, who would ever buy it from you second hand? People want second hand cars to be as near original as possible.

In fact the car would be worthless.

If the car is underpowered the only option is to trade it in for a car with a more powerful engine. You will lose money, but if you ruin the car by trying to fit an unoriginal engine you will lose everything.
