Hi guys this is my first post, i have had my van for a couple of years, and it has never reved over 3500 rpm, i thought that it may have been restricted, but spoke to fiat who infrmed me that its not very common at all that it has been restricted. has anyone else had the same problem? my mechanic said its not the air flow mater, nor the egr valve as it does not smoke bad at all. Fiat said it could be the egr valve or something to do with the exhaust. could it be a sensor of any kind?

My mechanic also said he serviced a 59 plate one recently and this also had the same problem.

Does the Engine Managing Light go off after initial start up?
If it doesn't and if it was mine, I'd get a diagnostic plug in check done as a starting point.

yes it goes off fine.
