Hello, can anyone help me out please.
I have a 1.3 jtd fiat Doblo on a 2006 that's cut out on me after having two new glow plugs, they was stuck in for about 2 months before the man come out to fix them, the car was running fine for about 20 miles until i had a whining noise coming from down by the pullys, every time i reved the car up it would whine as if a baring was on its way out, so on the way home it cut out and wouldn't start up, I managed to get it running but it was lumpy and that's when I notist the acceleration stopped working, I put my foot down to rev and nothing happens, we have had the head off checked fuel pump changed the map/maf new oil change. injectors cleand egr and manafold cleaned and it still won't run, the man from the garage can get it to run with easy start but it runs lumpy then cuts out, and when he gets it to run there is no acceleration, please please help me out

Re: EGR Valve

I'm sorry I can't offer any solid advice, but my 1.9 JTD had a starting problem. It had new plugs, a new EGR valve and finally, in the bitter weather, it wouldn't start without the AA man shooting some propellent into the air intake. It was fine once going though.

Finally, one bitterly cold day, it took forever to get going and started in a cloud of white smoke. Again, once warm it ran perfectly and started well.

Nobody was certain of the problem, but compression and fuel injectors were mentioned.

I no longer have the car, but I would think somebody here might have some ideas, even if not the definitive answer because that is likely to need a decent mechanic to find out.

Good luck anyway. (y)

Mileage of car, does it have DPF, I would recommend after what you have done that you take it to a Fiat dsealership.

Hi, yes it has a dpf it's all working fine, prospeed put a new one on about 7months ago, also the mileage is 90k, it runs when you spray easy start in but cut out when you stop spraying it, the man from the garage said it might be fuel problems but he checked the pump and filter and all the fuel pips to see if it was blocked and all seamed ok and working well, but even when the car is running lumpy the acceleration ain't working it just goes to the floor and nothing happens, we are all stuck for words.
Thanks pal

Re: EGR Valve

Hello, the man from the garage said the timing was ok it ain't jumped or something, and the pulleys was ok he said, i asked him to see if there was and play in the pulleys and he siad it was all ok, he even took the tensioner off and he said it is ok, but the whining come when the van got worm, would it still be the crankshaft sensor or crankshaft pulley.

thanks mate.

Re: EGR Valve

Sorry everyone i'm new to this, how would he monitor the parameters i don't no much about cars, how can he locate the area of concern. and no he haven't measured fuel pressure/airflow. he just said it was ok because it was coming out all the pips nice when he got me to turn the key and test it.

Thanks everyone for your help

Its something to look into,i mean unless you have a immobilzer fault i cannot see what else it could be the vehicle should start given all the other checks and bits and pieces you have done.. good luck

the problem these days is modern diesels and indeed modern petrol cars are complicated light years more so than cars from yesteryear.Garages? Dealers and the likes of certified diesel specialists is what is needed, not the friendly chap down the road who can change a clutch or gearbox or do a competent
service.you need specailist skills and most of the time those chaps dont have it beyond the basic diesel package of 3 decades ago.

Re: EGR Valve
