General O/S sliding door

Hi all, Can anyone tell me please if they have suffered a sliding door handle problem in as much that as soon as we try to open the door the handle comes away from the door and we have to open the door from inside. The handle will not go back into the body properly so has to be sealed with window sealant. I cannot see even when the handle is away from the body how it is retained inside, whether there are clips or similar that have broken off. Haven't got the nerve to attempt the D.I.Y option yet, am hoping for some advice please. Thanks in advance for same.

Did you resolve this, only I've just suffered the same!

I will try to replace the handle (I guess), but will need to access the inside first to see how the handle actually attaches to the door.

Hi Double O

I bought a new handle off Ebay, but got my local garage to fit it for me, which was a stroke of luck as they had to adjust it slightly to get it to fit (it was in fact one for a Doblo people carrier, but the seller hadn't mentioned this) - saved me a lot of head scratching!

Sounds like a plan. I'm taking it in to them to have a look on Saturday morning so we'll see what they say...

I should add, I have a doblo cargo van, so if it had have been an mpv the handle may well have worked without adjustment (just realised I must have posted this in the wrong thread!).
