Just been outside to Mrs_G's Doblo to check the oil and water.

Went to pull the bonnet release lever and noticed that it was already in the 'pulled' position. Gave it a wiggle but it is quite firm. The bonnet won't open.

Any pointers on how to resolve this please?

Thanks.

have you tried to wiggle the cable in AND out with somebody applying a gentle pull on the bonnet,

the punto one had a PUSH cable operation NOT a PULL,
so managed to jiggle it open,

maybe tease the grille out of the space under the catch..??,

good luck,
Charlie

Thanks for the suggestion. I'll give it a go in the morning when I get back home.

when i pull the lever on my car there is no noise and the bonnet doesnt move,i have to put my fingertips under the bonnet at the sides and lever it,it then pops up ,i have to warn any garages i put my car into or else they cant get it open

hi,
some of my older fiats have done this, usually just a matter of slackening off the 2 bolts that secure the bonnet catch , and realigning it,
well worth giving the cable an inspection and Lube too, as well as the catch mechanism itself,
being SO exposed to all the roaddirt, my cable basically rusted through.

once I'd managed to open the bonnet - replacing the cable was FAIRLY straightforward - used the ebay supplier recommended in the Punto 2 section, as they supply Genuine fiat cables for pattern prices.,
Charlie
