Hi all,
2002 Doblo 1.9JTD
I am desperately trying to work out how to change the bulbs behind the controls for air con/ air flow/ temperature unit..
I managed to remove the housing around the gear stick. removed 2 screws at bottom of back panel.
Panel lifts a littl from bottom but something is holding it back. Are they press studs?
I am worried that I will crack something.

Thanks, K

Scott might know this as he retrimmed his dash with fabric. His user name is Scott with loads of numbers after his name. He wrote a thread about facelifting his doblo to look like a newer one. Try sending him a PM,

OK. I have sorted it. I have pictures and will upload sometime.

The order is:
1. Undo 4 screws around steering column casing

2. remove gear stick glove/fabric. (by levering up the triangular base, where it meets the V shape of the gear stick lower housing)

3. Undo 5 star drive screws around gear stick lower casing (need to open glove compartment to access 2 of them. 2 more on side of steering casing. 2 more where you removed gear stick glove. The unit slides up then out.

4. using a flat screw driver or similar, gently prise out both air direction nozzles)

5. inside the top of the air holes you will see 2 screws for main back panel. There are also 2 at bottom but the gear stick. Panel now comes away. Remove cigarette lighter & 2 connectors (windows,, hazards etc) by pushing retain button/clip. Remove front panel.

6. On the temperture/ air flow control unit, turn all controls to a known point 0, 1 etc so can replace easier. Unclip black face panel from rear white box. If air con fitted, insert a flat screwdriver insert behind black face panel and white rear housing, GENTLY lever off the air con knob. Be careful there is a D shaped spring in it. Face plate should now come away.

7. The bulbs are then exposed. They tend to be very difficult to remove. You can pop the entire bulb mount out to the rear so you can get better grip but sometime the retaining clips crack off.

Obviously use these steps in reverse to put everything back.
What a pain the arse for a blown bulb.
