Hi,
I've got the 2009 1.9 JTD 105hp and finally took the step to replace my clutch as I couldn't put it into reverse any more. Anyway the gearbox seems like it will come out fairly easily - it's even smaller than my mk2 Punto's box - but I am bloody well stuck with the intermediate driveshaft. As per e-shop manual instructions, I removed both out driveshafts by simply removing the boots and separating the bearings from the cup. This would be fine on my 1,2 Punto but the 1.9 has an intermediate shaft which I must remove - and it won't budge. All instructions simply state "remove". Bikes-for-me did a great clutch removal thread for the Multipla 1.9 here: https://www.fiatforum.com/multipla/190204-diy-guide-clutch-replacement.html, but didn't really get into the details of shaft removal.

It does appear that the shaft doesn't have a c-clip. I've tried levering and tapping on the support bearing (that is free to come out) but it won't budge. Frankly I don't know if it's the support bearing that's actually holding the shaft in place, or if the problem is in the gearbox as the whole thing's pretty tight.

Anybody been through this? Darn shame to get stuck at this point in the job.

Thanks, Tom

Ha! It's done. Looks like the support bearing was seized in its race a bit and was holding the shaft in. Some careful hammering around the support loosened it up and she came out like butter.

Thanks anyway for the suggestion.

Cheers.
