OK fellow doblo owners - my 235,000 mile doblo cargo starts and then cuts out straight away. All lights on the dash go off as if no power. The bus will start up straight away but die again as soon as it starts. Doesn't do this all the time I might add.

Odd times when I put the key in and turn to the 1st ignition position some of the dash lights flash and the lights on the odometer flicker until I turn the ignition off and on again.

Today it had one of these do's but then cut out as I started to drive, the seatbelt light was also sticking on. Its had the crank sensor replaced so its not the usual fault of getting warm and cutting out etc (my sensor had managed to do 233,000 afore needing a change).

Am just wondering if there is some sort of key sensor in the column that may be faulty or whether it could be a dicky earth strap etc...

Would welcome any thoughts ...

Cheers Mick

Huuhmm -- didn't think of the ignition switch. when it cuts out all the dash lights will go off as if I've turned the key. The switch will have had some hammer over the years....

Sounds a bit like earth lead fault perhaps?

I had all sorts of odd problems until I changed mine. Old lead looks perfect but all faults stopped after changing it.

Its a 5 min job and the new lead only cost me £26 although I could have bought them cheaper from a car spares place it would have been a bodge as there are two connectors. one on the battery to vehicle frame then onto the gearbox.

Best of luck

Hi mickleplum,

Could you sort out the problem with your van?

My Doblo 1.3 Multijet, 2006 does the same thing, dies immediately after start (runs for max. 1-2 seconds or less). My mechanic checked everything and gave up by now.

The lights are normal however, no extra flashing.

Thanks
