I've just purchased a 2001 Doblo Cargo 1.9 jtd , my first Fiat. It starts and ticks over ok , but when driving only a few miles I get an engine warning light and it's prone to cutting out. I thought it was only happening in fifth gear but it happened in fourth today. It had a new back box and Cat fitted about a week before I got it , so I don't know if this might be part of the problem. It's been suggested that it might be a faulty MAP , but I don't know if this would cause the problems I'm getting. Any advice would be most gratefully received.

I forgot to mention , that if I switch the engine off and then back on again , then the engine light goes off and it runs fine again for the next wee while ???

Sounds like a sensor fault, you need the codes read first of all.

Thanks for the reply. I had a look online for possible faults and I think it's a sensor as you suggest. I'll get it checked out with that in mind

get the codes read then let us know what they are
