Just wondered if anyone had any tips or ideas on how to improve their Doblo. I have put in a better radio as the standard one was rubbish! What can I do next? What have you all done to yours? :D

I changed the radio too, bought some custom blinds to keep the sun from boiling the kids heads with all that glass in tge rear seats. I also fiited some roof bars, and a pair of wind deflectors to the front windows which I would highly reccomend.

,
done,
done,
done and
done
(with plenty of pics around these threads somewhere)
Also...
Wireless reversing camera (cam hidden between the number plate lamps)
Towbar fitted.
Airtabs stuck around the rear end to help keep the back window clean (supposedly also helps with fuel economy but not so as I've noticed.)

Just installed a set of JBL GTO528 on the rear of my Dobló Combi. Sounds better but still far from good. No doubt the LG LAC2900 is crap... :) gonna change it when i have the tim€.

13cm speaker on the place of the 10cm ones you dont even have to drill anything. 2 M5x40 bolts thru the speaker fixing points 2 nuts on the oposite side to provide clearance fot the woofer membrane, a washer, and push the bolts over the top of the original holes. A washer and a nut on the other side, carefull on the torque to avoid breaking the plastic structure and you're set.

Wonderfull Speakers, great clear sound and a 3db tweeter adjust button on the orientable speaker.

Best wishes to all.

How about a set of alloy wheels from a 20vt Coupe? More rolling resistance and a tad over the top, but they get noticed !!!!

It doesn't take much to improve the look of a Doblo !!

Drove alongside a new Doblo this morning, and for those of us of a certain age... It makes a Hillman Husky look pretty !!

It's a good job we don't buy em for their Kerb appeal.

We ran a thread of mods a while back....but I can't find it:eek:

For me, kenwood stereo, underseal along sills and bottom of doors (they chip and rust here), custom made boot plastic mat with lip in boot (£20 ebay) great for dog owners, all round sunblinds, wind deflectos (after a bee came in on the motorway and commited suicide on my chest), 15" wheels & better headlight bulbs are next on list.

lowered suspension ,17inch wheels ,side pipes umpteen heater resisters, new stereo, steering wheel cover & gear lever shroud.
putting a twin charger on next with a big leisure battery on just for those winter nites:)

On my MkII dobbie I have privacy tint to all rear windows, Privacy top tint on windscreen, Engel fridge freezer installed in the boot on sliders, 12v leisure battery for fridge (still to wire in the split charge - but lasts a fortnight between charges), Witter tow bar for the bike carrier and up front a Ram iPad mount. Next up is the split charge, then mud-flaps all round and proper plumbed in power to a Garmin Montana.

If anyone has any experience of getting power from the battery/alternator into the vehicle through the bulkhead, I'd love to hear from them as I can't find any holes or ways through without drilling.

Cheers,

J

What have you all done to yours? :D

  • oil Mobil1 0W-40
  • battery with more power
  • PDF
  • improved anti roll bars for rear (Meyle HD)
  • voltage peak killer
  • lights for second row
  • longer belt catches for second row
  • LED for front row lights
  • next in 2012: 185 tyres instead of 175 on original wheels
  • next in 2012: ATE ceramic brake pads for less brake dust

My doblo 04 plate jtd has been good over the last 2 years, i have sorted out a few wiring issues, new cambelt, water pump and clutch at a 110 thousand, apart from being super clean i fancy a pair of climair wind deflectors and some sort of heating system for the winter months, getting into a cold van in the morning aint nice so i shall be retro fitting something.

So far on my 2011 Dobby, Fully secondary carpeted the rear of the car including the sides, as I will also need to use it occasionally for dirty jobs.

Removed the single outer seat from the middle row so that I can get a large frame bike onboard upright.

Removed one of the third row of seats, same reason as above

Tow bar fitted

Roof bars fitted

New Fiat option 10 spoke alloys with Goodyear winter tyres. A set of 4 of the official 10 spoke accessory alloys are £200 cheaper than the 14 spoke standard alloys if any of you are thinking of making a change. (y)

Other changes being considered: Window tinting for the rear, a roof box, and maybe a towbar mounted cycle rack.

sun blinds
tow bar for bike rack
12v power to high level parcel shelf.
would like roof bars and a nudge bar if I could get them in black, don't like the bright silver.

So far i've remapped it & fitted my Alpine CDA9886 head unit. Going to upgrade the dash & door speakers soon.

I've just fitted a ply panel kit. Need some racking/shelves in the back for some of my work gear. Already ordered an invertor & going to get a nice big leisure battery boxed in the back to run my key cutting machines.

Also on the list is a set of 16" alloys. Would like to stiffen the chasis up a bit as it has a bit too much body roll for my liking. Fitting 16"s with lower profile tyres should help it a little bit.

i'll now add to the list of mods a set of 16" Stilo alloys! Couldn't wait any longer so thought sod it & did the deal with somebody on ebay yesterday. Just need to collect them now :D
