While being driven intermittent ABS EBD errors occasionally "switch off Engine" once fuel gage dived to empty and I had a message telling me to refuel I had 1/4 of a tank left!

After about 20 min it slowly returned to normal.

Abs seems to be working fine even when I'm being told its not working.

Took it to a garage today and looked at the error codes we had the following:-
Central ECU Delphi Marinelli
Fault Memory 9006 Fuel level sensor Signal above maximum threshold
D0602 C-Can bus line error Signal not valid / intermittent
Anti-Lock braking system - Teves Mk20/70
Fault memory 31 ABS indicator lamp.

The lamp works (too well) any suggestions folks?

New battery fitted.

Cleared codes.

I now have an additional fault of the O/S/F ABS sensor intermittently dropping off line and back on line.. this is a different and separate fault to the 9006 / D0602 errors.

Cleaned connector to ABS controller unit with 1/2 tin contact cleaner.. made no difference. :(

I will pull the sensor off tomorrow and have a look at it. recently had new wheel bearing fitted by Arnold Clarke Stafford, before I got the car... Yes them again!

I think its gone again ( less than 4k miles since it was done) as I can hear a speed related rumble that sounds like a wheel bearing to me, coming from the O/S/F..

See my comments about the "servicing " Arnold Clarkes Stafford have done under "Garages good or bad" thread.

I'd be more inclined to check CAN wiring, the cluster gets fuel gauge signal from body computer which is where I would look especially when combined with D602.

OK where do I find this?

Do I have to take the dash out to check the connectors?

I find the ELearn manuals particularly annoying.. I wanted to change the gearbox oil.. there is a picture of the gearbox filler plug in a different section but the description of changing the Gearbox oil has no pictures.. so I undid a "likely looking" Hex bolt and the oil came out.. however not sure it was the right one because it only took 1.5 litres to re-fill it. :(
