Re: MPG 105 multijet doblo

Long journeys at motorway speeds we get 60mpg.
Mix of motorway/town/country is around 55mpg (it's normal average)
Going mental (and letting wife use doblo!) never less than 50mpg

Re: MPG 105 multijet doblo

Hi

I get an average on the computer of 50 - 52mpg for round the town and general, but for a 60 - 65mph hour long run we will get 60 - 62 mpg on the computer.

If you take a real reading (brim the tank, use, re-brim) it tends to be about 5mpg less than computer.

Re: MPG 105 multijet doblo

For info 39.88mpg from my 120 averaged over 9,500 miles - mostly dual carriageway and motorway work - engine only covered 15,000 miles at the moment so may improve.

Re: MPG 105 multijet doblo

Going everywhere at 50-60mph I get a computer reading of 58 to 60 mpg on mostly Motorway and fast A roads.

If I do 70 on the motorway the reading drops to about 50 mpg.

Like others the computer is way optimistic. The actula is about 6-8mpg less than the computer reads.

Re: MPG 105 multijet doblo

08 Dynamic with 14000 mls
Gatwick where l bught it back to Northants 38.9, wife in Mercedes C220 CDi following got the same!!!!
Holiday in Devon - Journey there at speed limits 38.2
Days out there for one week, 800 miles, 44.4
Disappointed with those figures, have done 50 in the MB driving carefully, with a previous BMW 316D have done 64 so can drive economically, but the Doblo hasn't repaid me for that yet
Looking for the 50+ mentioned by others

Thinking of a specialist diesel tuners to set it up, it does go quite quickly so might be over fueled - any suggestions

Pleased with the car so far except the above, very practical and drives well for a van base

On accurate MPG, forget brimming with speedos 7% off,
sat nav says 70 speedo says 75.
Odomoter is geared from the speedo, so records that error. Adjust figures even from brimming by 7% to allow for that.

Happy and safe driving to all

Re: MPG 105 multijet doblo

Hello,

First post on here so here goes

Just got a 2010 new model Doblo with the 105 Multijet engine. Only done 2,500 miles with it's first owner. The engine power seems to be about what I expected but the MPG seems way worse than expected. I drive gently and anticipate the road ahead not using brakes that much.

I put ten gallons in from empty and got around 460 actual miles before needing to refuel again. Using the trip computer this week it is very hard to get the average over 50mpg on gentle 40-50mph A road driving and three days of gentle urban driving to work have shown 30mpg.

If you set the trip computer to show current 'live' mpg it gives a figure lower than 20mpg under normal rates of acceleration. Driving on country roads with bends taken at 15-20mph and straight bits in-between it is hard to get the average mpg up over 40.

I found a straightish bit if A road with only gentle hills where I could maintain 40-50mph and for 10 miles or so I managed to get over 70mpg so it seems to be the acceleration bits that eat up the fuel.

Is it worth getting a check on the injection system ? Should I run it in more before worrying bearing in mind the low mileage? I used to have a similar sized Citroen and my figures were at least 10mpg better.

Rob

Run it in a bit first. Some people on here have waited until after 20k miles to get a true idea.

Re: MPG 105 multijet doblo

I think my 120 Multijet is trying to clear its particulate filter.

My MPG is never more than 42mpg at 60 mph about town its around 33mpg! it has 110k miles and been "serviced" from new by Arnold Clarkes Stafford.. so that may have a lot to do with it.

Recently after a steady run of 14 miles I could smell something getting very hot. I checked the exhaust to see if the smell was coming from there and the heat was like a blowtorch, I waved my hand in the gas stream of the exhaust and nearly got my hand blistered!

It has stopped saying "oil degraded change oil" and now only occasionally says "change oil" I really hope the MPG gets better as its costing me a fortune!

Re: MPG 105 multijet doblo

I have a 120ps Doblo and have driven about 18,500 miles in it from new (07 plate). If I drive very carefully I can just about reach 43mpg. Real world driving is about 37-39mpg.
Not brilliant I know, but it is about as aerodynamic as a brick and the engine is gaged to the hilt with pointless soot emissions equipment that does not work very well anyhow. I am going to put a K&N air filter and a mildly set tune up box on the fuel rail to try & improve things a bit as the performance of this engine is tardy at best.
Will let you know how I get on.
