been havin a mere with this site.

but back in the room.

this is the 3rd time i' ve done this

so here goes

i've got a 1.9 jtd 51 doblo when i started up i notice a diesel leak (about 100mls) near the offside tyre, this was running down the sump buy the belts.

I turned the engine off waited and started again this time no leak.

since then it hasn't happen (5days) untill today.

I've taken the engine cover off, checked the fuel fillter all hose's and pipes all seem sound.

the leak seems to be coming from around the high pressure fuel pump area. (smells of diesel)

the bad thing is i only took the sump cover off to check a oil leak, which is gear box oil leaking from where the bellhousing meets the engine. hope thats just a drive shaft seal but guess it's got to come out.

have seen that other people have had these problems and could anybody help.

thanks

Yep me and computers Aren't a match in heaven.

But will take a closer look at the resevior.
One of the main problem is that it's intermitant.

What do you think would cause this?

Thanks again for your patience.

you need to get a view up high of rear of engine which is difficult, you can always use a mirror. The reservoir (plastic) is known area, however if you say its intermittent do you mean only when cold/hot?

I would say when cold, but doesn't do it every time you start-up.

It's only happened twice, since I noticed it.

Got a mirror yesterday and had a good look/feel the reseivoir looks good. Signs of diesel/corrosion on solinod (fuel pump)

It's in the garage for gear box so will see how big the bill is.

Got the car back gear box sorted.

but they can't find leak. booo

guess i'll just have to keep a eye on it

Hi the problem came back this time but every day. the problem was the high pressure fuel pump. some seals had gone these were replaced and pump pressure tested for 150 + vat, the pump is on the timing belt so the total bill was 380 inc car. Hope this helps. A new pump would of been 326 + vat + fitting.
