Hi all,

I have recently bought a 2008 1.3MJ Doblo Family. Great car and quite surprising performance from a small diesel powered large car.

However, just realised when cleaning the car that it has reversing sensors fitted in the bumper, but no mention of them from the previous owner and also they have never worked since I have owned the car.

Is their a control board that can be accessed to see if their is power, as all the fuses look intact, and I am wonering if the problem was caused when the afterfit towbar was fitted or if something was left disconnected?

Thanks in advance for any help offered.

If these are the aftermarket jobbies, the sensors will have wires running to a control box in the back somewhere (probably hidden behind the plastic). This takes power from a reverse light.
The box will also have a wire supplying some sort of viewer on the dash, usually a simple unit displaying how many centimetres left between the object and the nearest sensor (which it will also indicate).
To be honest though, I wouldn't mess about with sensors, I much prefer a reversing camera, it gets you within a gnat hair of objects & can be an excellent aide for hitching trailers as you can get the towball right under the hitch whereas the sensors tend not to work below 30cm (or they do but it's just a continuous beep) & 30cm is a load of space for getting your motor into/out of.

Thanks for the reply, these are official factory fitted sensors. I have found that they are wired but do not know here they are wired to, other than either sides sensors go somewhere inside the rear of the vehicle.
