Hello there,

Quick question if that's OK?

What would happen if the Auxiliary belt failed whilst driving? I know what happens when a cambelt fails but not if it were just the aux belt.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

hmmm ok thanks.

I had the cambelt and water pump done last week but they said they couldn't source an aux belt.

They said they tried Fiat directly but they didn't have any either.

They did say though that the belt looked as good as new. It may have been changed already but there were no receipts to show any such work done when I bought the van.

Hi,not sure on your model, but on the 1.3 multijet it has a stretch belt with no adjustment/tensioner,if removed and obviously stretched to get off, can if reused come off after a period of time as tension is incorrect,so if this is the type of belt is fitted I would reccomend new asap,as although the belt can visually appear fine, being stretched it is liable to come off. Think belt drives power steering as well, hope this of help,John
