Hi All,

My 04 Doblo cargo 1.3 Multijet has developed a problem :-S

It started with the engine jolting once in the mornings after driving a few hundred meters, the engine light would briefly flash, then all would return to normal.

I drove it a few weeks ago and it lost power, no engine lights came on, but it was very reluctant to rev and down on power.

I stopped driving it for a while and used an estate car instead.

Yesterday I started it and went for a drive, it behaved fine and drove with normal power.

It has done approximately 150k

I need to get to the bottom of whats wrong with it, I have had a search on here and see that cleaning the EGR and MAF is a good starting point, does anyone have any other hot tips to help me fix Dobbin?

I would like to drive dobbin again while i can still, just about afford to fill the tank with Diesel!!!!

Many thanks Angus

Thanks, could you point me in the right direction for easier stuff?
Also, I pulled the vaccume hose on my other diesel car to disable the egr valve, it didnt seem to cause any issues, but did get rid of the coking up issue... Is this possible to do on a Fiat?

Thanks, yup, a code reader sounds like a good idea!

Hi, I drove the doblo again today and it starts and drives for the first half mile or so fine, then looses power.
I've ordered an EOBD code reader, hopefully coming tomorrow.
I took the airbox off and removed the MAF, it looks a little dirty with oily dust, so maybe a clean or replace? On a good note, I removed the inlet hose to the turbocharger and it spins freely and spools up when you start the van, so good news there :) I guess its wait and see what the code reader says.
