My Dad has just brought a 2003 Fiat Doblo van and the heater matrix has just failed. The car was brought at auction and was sold as seen so we have no comeback.

I have already stripped all of the lower dash trims off but havent gone any further because he needs the van next week.

My question is, do i have to remove the dash to remove the heater matrix? If so does anyone have a step by step guide beforte i start removing unnecessary items?

I have all the required tools and i am a trained mechanic but i have been out of the game for a while and if im honest i have never done a heater matirx before

I don't know about the dobbie (sorry). I have only ever replaced 2 matrices and in both cases I started by removing the front seats!
Ithen had to remove the plastic covers to reveal the underside of the dash.
I then had to spend an eternity laid on the floor reaching under the dash with numerous attachments to my socket set in order to undo the 4 fixing nuts.
