Hi , a friend has an immobiliser key which has a loose chip. We are going to resolder it but could do with a photo of a working one (we dont know which way it goes in?)
Can anyone help with an internal photo? thanks in anticipation

I may be wrong but I thought all of these ID48 chips were glass tubes.

seeing this thred i thoughti might bring this up, ive got the key and inside is the glass tube. right heres my problem i think...

The glass tube appears to be broken. In Fact. IT IS! ive got no problems and ive only just noticed it as i has to use the key to open the door and the key just opened itself up. i must say i have not put the key in the door for nearly 4 years...!! A BIT STIFF! :slayer:

anybody think that could cause me a problem??

Your going to have problems starting the car if the glass is broken.
Give the barrels a squirt of silicon/teflon spray.
