WHY , no seriously just put a tow bar on my new (old model dobin) and was toying with the idea of getting rid of my under used motorhome and getting a 2 berth caravan to look at in the yard instead my question is would i still be able to open the tailgate to let the dog out with the caravan attached ? it defo would clear the coupling ok but cant visualise how close the rest of the van would be

Only snag I can think of might be the jockey wheel handle

My towbar kit came with a plate which is supposedly designed to protect the bumper or perhaps help align the towbar with the hitch. had to leave this off as the tailgate wouldn't open.
