Hi all,
could anyone tell me what their average mpg is for the 1.9jtd 2004 model doblo cargo, i have been running a new one for 4mths, can't get more than 400mls to tankful driven fast or slow!!! seem to average 34-36mpg, dealer can't find a engine fault, any help welcome please

Hiya,
What mileage have you got on the clock??
Mine didn't start doing a decent mpg until after 14K when everything had loosened up. Now average around 46mpg
Cheers

thanks flying shed, milage less than 4000mls, was your mpg as bad at low milage?

Hi Mitch, yeah the mpg was pretty lousy in the early days. Mine gets used for work a lot. I'm at about 55K at the mo and the thing just rolls along a treat. Mostly motorway work but it rolls along at 80 with about 2700rpm showing on the rev counter and as I said about 46 -50 mpg. In the low mileage days it seemed to be working hard to push along at any decent pace and definately sounded like a diesel!
Cheers

hi, thanks for your reply stephen your mpg is what i was expecting but my last tankfull =45ltr for 380 mls mixed running, app 80% at 50/60 mph, dealer having another look tomorrow, am totaly sick of the van, rear door stay weak, gust of wind = bent door hinge, soft brake pedal + ineffictive handbrake :bang: Fiat helpline  can't/won't tell me what mpg to expect, told me to pay the aa to inspect the van and if a fault was found they would reimburse me  like the van tho (y) hope they can sort it out :shakehead

you should be getting around 50 m.p g. i do and i dont hang around and i do about 50k a year

At the other extreme i've got a grand total of 1k on mine now, after a couple of weeks, and behaving myself, i'm getting around 50mpg on motorway & about 40-50mpg mixed roads (similar 50/60mph 75% of the time). Obviously this is with a virgin engine and will improve with time so I would be very disappointed with your figures.
I've seen on a number of threads that either when accidently or deliberately disconnecting the battery and allowing the engine management system to 're-learn' can work wonders. Anyone tried this themselves?

Alex
