had problems starting the van over the last few days if your battery's not 100% ,it causes a problem with the ecu.
problem i had was
key code kept coming up & stops you starting engine turns over but no fire up:bang: a quick connnection to a very friendly bloke on the car park with my jump leads away she went first time??
now got my fully charged leisure battery in the back just in case

Did the bloke you connected it to have an electric personality?
