To be honest Steve alot on that list is automatic things that I do when buying secondhand (forget service stamps) like filters and service. Doblo exhausts are cheap when buying pattern parts as are discs/pads.

I always keep a spare linkage & column switch for any fiat I buy...because they are crap. Headlamp iseasily fixed as I guess you found out.

Welcome to doblo world(y) My doblo has just done 1000 miles in 3 days fully loaded, 55mpg and never missed a beat, great cars:)

I agree , This was my list of things to bring the doblo up to how i wanted it.

I've never cleaned my EGR I just give it full throttle in 2nd gear every week uphill...that cleans it out:D

p.s. mind that timing belt (5 year/50k)and do pump at same time

i have a 54 reg 1.3 diesel doblo cargo van and was told it's a timing chain not belt is that right

Have to say that in the past, when buying an older motor I would always, always do those jobs before taking the motor anywhere - engine flush, oil change, coolant, plugs, points - all the usual service items that people simply CBA to do as cars get older - yet a few basic, simple services will kep the motor sweet for years.

Sounds like a scientific answer to the problem :D - can you enlighten me on how big a hill and how far in second gear please and is it a recognised way of keeping the agr sweet ? thanx
