hi all my 1.9d 53 plate dobby. the handbrake light keeps coming on when turning right or going round a round about but if your turning left it doesn't come on no matter how hard you throw it into a a left hander. iv'e also checked the brake fluid level & it's fine. it is happening more often lately as if the pads or fluid are getting lower but the pads & discs are only 4000 miles old. my dobby doesn't have abs or brake pad warning wires. so what else connects to this warning light ???

it just sees to go on when turning or leaning to the right
p.s i also have noticed that the cap of the brake fluid pot hasn't got sensor wires or a plug so it mustn't be able to tell me if my brake fluid is low either. so the light as far as i can tell is only a handbrake warning light unless others know better ???

Hi
Check the handbrake switch and the leads make sure they are not pulled or under stress. The fault will be there and not likely to be anywhere else.
Does the light flicker if you waggle the handbrake when off? (make sure the ignition is on)

Double check your fluid level. If you have the same reservoir as my 1.9jtd, I had a similar problem after replacing brake fluid and thought fluid was OK. But there is a filter in the reservoir and unless you remove this it appears when you look into the filler it is full, but the filter holds a small amount in its 'bottom', giving a false impression. There is a low level sensor and it seems to me the fluid is sloshing around partially activating it. Worth a look anyway.

i had this problem, it either you need new brakes and pads or the res is too low or too full or dodgey sensor....

mine was the brakes and pads.

it ust to do it to me and its so annoying especially when its only on certain actions!

i have found it has a leek but the brakes & handbrake are fine & i only have to refill the pot around 350 miles. also its passed 2 taxi mots so im gonna wait until the weather improves to find it:slayer::slayer:
