I have a ongoing intermittent fault with turbo under (or over) pressure on my 1.3 multijet doblo.....

people on here reckon its the wastegate..... but mechanic is saying EGR, so I'm loath to take it back to spend even more money on possibly the wrong bit

as I was driving on the motorway today, I pushed on a little bir more and was doing over 3000rpm in 5th..... when I got to a hill and the engine was straining the engine management light would come on, turn off/on and run along in 4th, at higher revs (but lower load?) everything was fine, back into 5th and all good until going up a good hill again, then back into limp mode....

so I was just wondering if the wastegate would do this?

thanks

John

so I've confused myself reading the forum:eek:

was reading a thread and got confused by the talk of the turbo being VNT, but have reread and someone said it wasn't:eek:

by reading old threads it does seem to be a siezed wastegate actuator, as I have very similar faults, but do I need to strip the turbo to free off the actuator?
