Re: glow plug light flashing

you can check which on by disconnecting each in turn, using a multimeter each should read about 1ohm

this is measured from tip to body

Re: glow plug light flashing

Although they are slightly pricey (20 /set), I'd replace the lot. If they all went in at the same time, chances are if one is dodgy, the rest might not be far behind.
That said, you could be chucking perfectly serviceable plugs but while you've got your head under the bonnet and the sake of a fewe quid...
And it could save you from a morning's grief when the weather really gets cold.

Re: glow plug light flashing

My light has been flashing in this way for just over 18 months. We have had some COLD winters and this morning it started ok!

(So cold today that even my bottle of winter screenwash had frozen in the footwell!)

Not like the 1.9 D then which were just incredibly difficult to do due to space issues well two were, two were easy.

Yeah definately needs new glow plugs mine was doing exactly same and now has new NGK ones and is fine.

are you talking about the 1.9JTD? The 1.3 JTD is easy as they sit right in front of you unlike the 1.9JTD where they are at back/top of engine with no1 being the 'pig' to get at.

Re: glow plug light flashing

Just had mine replaced (doblo cargo1.9) exept one that was stuck but it was working and the light still flashes the mecanic said it is the relay that can also cause this light to go on. A new one will be about 90 but you could get one from the scrappies

Re: glow plug light flashing

I lasted one and a half years with the coil flashing then when cold starting got difficult I got new plugs. Six weeks later it was bad as ever on cold mornings and the light came on twenty seconds after starting for about thirty seconds. They (independent) checked the new plugs and said they were okay, then I replaced the electronic contol module, no change, then I had Fiat do diagnostics, no result - maybe ECU they said , then I went to Fiat again for a fuller diagnostic check, because the head tech wasn't there the first time , and I learnt from their more intensive diagnostic that one of the new plugs was in fact faulty - different resistance. Hooray! The other garage replaced them immediately and kindly gave me a loan car (nice people) and now all seems well. All this happened over about eight weeks. At least the coil light goes out now and it starts in the cold, or cool as we are having now.

I hope it is fixed but very cold nights will be the proving...
Cars eh
